The State-of-the-Art Library
The modern Supreme Court Library is located on the ground floor of the Supreme Court. It serves the research and legal information needs of the Judges, the Judiciary staff, the Law Practitioners and the Law students. Its mission is to provide all of its patron’s free access to relevant, current and accurate legal information. The Library plays a key role in the administration of justice in Mauritius.
The Library has established itself as the State-of-the-Art Library, being fully computerised with a QR code system developed and an Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). OPAC is the Library’s search tool to locate printed books and access the e-resources available in the Library. Users can access the OPAC anywhere and anytime, quickly and easily from their smart phones and tablets.
The Collection
The Law Library collection comprises of about 15000 volumes of printed legal material. About 5000 of these volumes are housed at the Old Library, Jules Koenig Street. A number of collections have been digitalised. These collections include historic, unique and rare material of laws and regulations of Mauritius.
Supreme Court Library Collection comprises of Law Reports, Law Journals, Supreme Court Judgments, Statutes, and textbooks on various law disciplines, Dalloz and Jurisclasseur encyclopedias and more.
Digital Collection comprises of Herchenroder, Rouillard and Lane collections, Collections of Ordinances and Government Notices of Mauritius prior to 1900.

Old Library Collection consists of older collection of laws of Mauritius, Government Gazette, Law Reports, Statutes, and French collections.
These collections are kept in closed stacks and can be retrieved upon request.
